SELF-EMPLOYMENT ASSISTANCE
Self‑Employment Assistance provides a range of services for current and aspiring business owners, ranging from flexible individual Business Advice Sessions to a structured 12-month package of Small Business Coaching
Self-Employment Assistance can help you:
- consider being self-employed
- decide on a business idea and check if it will work
- develop a business plan
- get a business up and running, or
- adjust your own business to keep it viable.
PARTICIPANT ELIGIBILITY
To be Eligible to access the Services, a person must:
- be at least 15 years of age (noting that a person must be 18 years of age to access Small Business Coaching)
- not be prohibited by law from working in Australia
- not be an overseas visitor on a working holiday visa or an overseas student studying in Australia
- not be an undischarged bankrupt
- meet any additional eligibility criteria specific to the Service(s) which they have chosen, including any criteria in the chapter for the relevant Service.
What Self-Employment Assistance offers
Self-Employment Assistance offers 6 free services. You can do all of them or only select the ones you want to do.
Gives you information about self-employment and helps to generate and test business ideas.
Helps you prepare a viable business plan to help your business succeed.
Provides business mentoring for up to 12 months, and financial assistance (if eligible)
Offers targeted advice relating to your business idea or existing business.
Provides you with the business skills you need to start and run a small business and will help you pick the qualification that best helps you achieve your small business goals.
