New Business Assistance with NEIS
(New Enterprise Incentive Scheme)
New Business Assistance with NEIS is a program which assists unemployed people in turning a viable business idea into their own small business.
NEIS is funded by the Department of Employment, Skills, Small and Family Business. This initiative helps you become self-sufficient and independent by establishing a new small business.
Approved applicants will receive training in small business management, business skills and assistance to develop your business plan. A NEIS allowance and rental assistance can be provided by the Federal government to eligible applicants.
What NEIS provides
- Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) Accredited training in Certificate IV in New Small Business or Certificate III in Micro Business Operations so you can establish and run your own small business
- Mentor advice and support for 12 months
- Income support for up to 39 weeks (NEIS Allowance) (if eligible)
- Rental assistance for a period of up to 26 weeks (if eligible)
Please note that NEIS does not provide start-up capital for your business.
